CLT – The Link Teaching Style
CLT – Communicative Language Teaching is considered the most modern and productive way of teaching foreign languages.
CLT – focuses on encouraging learners to use the target language from the very beginning under the guidance of the teachers. Speaking skills are developed from the first contact with the language. From the very beginning we plunge students into using natural language.
CLT – promotes speaking and listening skills as a way of developing the communicative language abilities of students.
CLT – promotes individualized learning and creative thinking as opposed to a traditional view of language learning based on mechanical repetition and grammar tests.
CLT – places a high premium on oral work and maximum student participation in group and pair work. Lessons are made learner-centered by means of language games, oral activities in which students interact with classmates, role plays, discussion topics and listening tasks. Students are encouraged to express themselves freely in the language from the very beginning through structured exercises, meaningful drills, tasks which provide them with a framework-structure for spontaneous, communicative creation.
CLT – using students' native language in the classroom is highly discouraged.
CLT – our teachers creatively adapt language learning techniques to suit their particular teaching contexts. Teachers are encouraged to use authentic materials like newspapers and magazines and to base their syllabi on students' needs and interests.
Our objective is to overcome our students' timidity and fear of being embarrassed when they express themselves simplistically or awkwardly as they often do when their knowledge of the language is at the elementary stage.
